The Dummy Fairy, my first children’s e-book illustrated by the super-talented Wendy Paterson, is now available on Amazon. And as an added bonus (’tis the season of giving, after all), if you download it by 15 December, you’ll be able to read it for free.
I had a lot of fun with this book. I got the idea thinking about what would happen if you planted a dummy. Would you get a Dummy Tree? My youngest, Matthew, found it thrilling to think of an entire tree covered with dummies (this was in the days when he had about three dummies, not including the ones we hid in the kitchen cupboard, car and the travel bag). So the idea grew from there and when I asked Wendy to come on board, she really brought the story to life with her beautiful illustrations.
It’s a small step for mankind, sure, but it’s a giant leap for me. And I’m hoping it will be the first of many books (God willing) and the beginning of a long journey. I have to keep reminding myself that if I can bring delight to the soul of one child, then it has been worth it.
(Disclaimer: I couldn’t have uploaded the book to Kindle without the help of my ever-patient husband, Gavin. Three cheers for persisting when I was close to giving up!)
If you like the book, tell your friends. And I would really appreciate it if you could write a review on Amazon. Be honest – your feedback will help me, as well as other readers. Now to get cracking on the next one…
